TAEKWONDO FUNDAMENTAL MOVEMENTS

Each of these Taekwondo fundamentals will help to develop your co-ordination, strength, and balance. Don’t worry if you aren’t able to pick them up straight away – they all vary in difficulty and will take some time to master.

When mastering these taekwondo fundamentals, be sure to look closely at which kicks require bending of the knee, which part of the foot you use to hit your target, and which direction your supporting leg will move in. These important points will not only help you perform each kick, but to help prevent injury to yourself.

When practicing on a target, always keep your eye on where you are kicking to ensure the accuracy of your kicks, and always practice using both your left and right leg. These kicks will be featured in all our patterns, one-step sparring, kicking combinations and are often seen in free-sparring, so it’s always a good idea to come back to revisit these taekwondo fundamentals.

When you’re ready to move on, check out our White Belt Videos, or come in to our Taekwondo Classes to train with our Master Trainers.
